Professor Frick has previous worked at various research institutes and industrial collaboration institutions, and has managed several Norwegian and international research projects. Jan Frick is member of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing)” and member of the international editorial review board of the “International Journal of Operation and Production Management”. He is a reviewer for the editorial board of the “Information Resources Management Journal”, and is running international projects connected to elearning, broadband, and innovation. Professor Jan Frick organised the Conference on Advances in Production Management Systems, APMS at the University of Stavanger in 2011.

Norway’s regulatory authorities have not been interested in acting as if they are alone in the world. So working with other national regulators is a key activity. The value of international collaboration between safety regulators has been apparent to the Norwegians ever since their oil adventure began in the 1960s, and is present in many international safety-related fora such as the The International Regulators’ Forum (IRF), bringing together Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, United Kingdom and United States. The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway organised the International Regulators’ Forums bi-annual conference in Stavanger in 2011.

Eldar Søreide - Professor and Medical Director of ICU, Trauma and Emergency Care at Stavanger University Hospital.
Dr. Søreide has more than 20 years of clinical experience in anaesthesia, intensive care, resuscitation and advanced emergency care. He is a long-time member of the International Trauma Anesthesia and Critical Care Society (ITACCS/TCI), the founding Editor of "Akuttjournalen" - the Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency medicine. Since 2006 he is the President of the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (SSAI). He also acts as the Medical Director of the SAFER (Stavanger Acute medicine Foundation for Education and Research) simulation centre. Dr. Søreide is chairing and organising several international and national scientific meetings in Stavanger, Norway such as AIRMED2000, TraumaCare2002, HLR2003, Akuttdagene 2004 and 2006, Scandinavian Update 2005 and 2007 on Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, Resuscitation2006.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre of Southern Norway or JRCC SN, is a rescue operation centre located in Sola, Stavanger, responsible for coordinating major search and rescue operations. JRCC SN is organised as government agency subordinate to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Its region of responsibility is defined by the International Maritime Organisation and the International Civil Aviation Organisation, and the JRCC SN is prepared to handle situations related to land, sea and air, as well as operations tied to offshore constructions and missions requiring international cooperation. The JRCC is part of various international networks and collaborations, such as the The International Maritime Organisation and the NORDRED-collaboration, and has hosted meetings such as the JWG-SAR Meeting 2010 and the NORDRED-conference 2011.
