Several larger sporting events to the region

Region Stavanger aims to increase the number of sporting events in the region on behalf of their members. The members consist of among others a network of 15 municipalities and a countless number of tourism related businesses. Region Stavanger has for years contributed to getting large events to the region. To mention; beach volleyball tournament, Norway Chess, Ishockey World Championship for ladies, European Championship in Curling, World Cup in climbing, Tour de fjords, and last but not least, Eurosurf 2017 and 2018. Region Stavanger has in agreement with Rogaland Idrettskrets, committed to give support to any sport that has an ambition of hosting a large sporting event in the region. 

Services

Region Stavanger gives professional support in the bidding process. We can also help with material, graphical layout and making the bid. Our experience and networks are extensive, and it is further possible for our staff in Region Stavanger to attend important meetings throughout the various stages of the application process. 

Local championship or world championship?
